Gaomei Wetland Visitor Center

The Gaomei Wetland Visitor Center is a two-story facility featuring a distinctive sloped and spiral-shaped design, resembling waves rising gradually from the ground. The second floor includes an observation deck overlooking the sunset and wind turbines at Gaomei Wetlands, and it is also a suitable spot for stargazing at night. The outdoor plaza features a large lawn along with art installations inspired by local wildlife and natural elements, including fiddler crabs and seashells, making it a highly recognizable local landmark.

The bus stop in front of the visitor center also offers a distinctive setting. From the shelter, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the wetlands, while temples, residential buildings, and roadside shops can be seen in the distance, creating a coastal landscape where natural scenery blends with everyday life. Moments of waiting, gazing into the distance, and watching people and vehicles pass by create a sense of nostalgia, longing, and quiet melancholy, giving the area a distinctive local atmosphere and strong storytelling potential.
